The Father and Son in the Bible

“No one has ever seen God. God the only Son, who is at the Father’s side, has made God known.”John‬ ‭1:18‬ ‭CEB‬‬

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His NAME will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 NKJV

“As he was thinking about this, an angel from the Lord appeared……. She will give birth to a son, and you will call him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”Matthew 1:20-21 CEB

“I’m no longer in the world, but they are in the world, even as I’m coming to you. Holy Father, watch over them in YOUR NAME, the name you gave me, that they will be one just as we are one. When I was with them, I watched over them in your name, the name you gave to me, and I kept them safe. None of them were lost, except the one who was destined for destruction, so that scripture would be fulfilled.” John 17:11-12 CEB

Righteous Father, even the world didn’t know you, but I’ve known you, and these believers know that you sent me. I’ve made YOUR NAME known to them and will continue to make it known so that your love for me will be in them, and I myself will be in them.” John 17:25-26 CEB

“I have come in my Father’s name, and you don’t receive me. If others come in their own name, you receive them.”John‬ ‭5:43‬ ‭CEB‬‬

The Christ became God after Resurrection

“The Jewish ancestors are theirs, and the Christ descended from those ancestors. He is the one who rules over all things, who is God, and who is blessed forever. Amen.” Romans 9:5 CEB

How to explain the verse above?

Answer: He came with human flesh- the flesh refers to Christ. The product of a man is only the flesh, the life and the consciousness in the flesh or the spirit and soul came from God. The flesh is merely a temporal shell of “what” we really are. But, the “who” we are is shape together with the flesh from birth to death. As a proof, up to this date, maybe a man can only clone a human flesh but to give it life and consciousness the same as a human where there is free will, no man had and can ever do it. This flesh after resurrection became one with God forever. It became God in a sense that, the flesh or Christ will never deteriorate and will be with God forever. Referring Christ or the flesh as God is after the resurrection, as a proof, the phrase “who is God” is in the present tense, implying that, the Christ or the Flesh that ascended as of this very moment is God. But, He was in human flesh when He was born up to before resurrection because, if the human flesh was God before the resurrection, it follows that it was all an act since God don’t die. Remember, 1 Jhon 4:2-3 said that if anyone does not acknowledge that Christ came in the flesh, that someone can be considered as anti-Christ. The verse is very clear what Christ was when He came but, the verse did not say anything about what He will be when He departed.

But if the Christ now is God, it follows that there is more than one God now in heaven?

Answer: Not necessarily since the name that the Christ carried was His Father’s name.

“Now I am departing from the world; they are staying in this world, but I am coming to you. Holy Father, you have given me YOUR name; now protect them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are. During my time here, I protected them by the power of the name you gave me. I guarded them so that not one was lost, except the one headed for destruction, as the Scriptures foretold.” John 17:11-12 NLT

Everything that the Christ did while on earth was to the credit of His name which was actually His Father’s name. Christ serves as the Father’s human Image. The image already existed before Matthew but, it was not yet placed or made into a human. Remember that God is invisible, the visible manifestation of the Father’s is His only begotten Son- His exact Image who was sent in the flesh to which, at this time had revealed the name of His Father which He carries.

To anyone, what we see is the Son but to the Son, He sees His Father.

“No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.” John 1:18 NIV

Nonetheless, they are one in a sense that, the Father’s who is THE LIFE that is very vast and cannot be quantified, part but exact essence of THE LIFE is in the Son.

“For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;” Colossians 2:9 NKJV

In the verse above, the term fullness does not necessarily mean quantity because no one can measure the vastness of God who is Spirit for He fills heaven and earth. It refers more on quality, it means, the fullness in quality is in Christ.

In analogy, if I get a pinch of salt water from a vast ocean and examine its properties, the pinch of salt water I have collected from the vast ocean has the same exact properties of that vast ocean. In this sense, the fullness of quality of the vast ocean was in the pinch of salt water I collected.

Without THE LIFE in the Son, the Son or the Image is dead. So, when you call in the name Jesus which is Son’s name, it is for the glorification of Father because Son’s name is also the Father’s name.

“I will do whatever you ask for in my name, so that the Father can be glorified in the Son. When you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it.”John 14:13-14 CEB

If you do address God as Father, at least you know who the

The Son is the Image of God

The Name of the Father was given to the Son

“God said to Moses, “I Am Who I Am. So say to the Israelites, ‘I Am has sent me to you.’” God continued, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your ancestors, Abraham’s God, Isaac’s God, and Jacob’s God, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever; this is how all generations will remember me.”Exodus‬ ‭3:14-15‬ ‭CEB‬‬

I am the LORD; that is my name; I don’t hand out my glory to others or my praise to idols.”Isaiah‬ ‭42:8‬ ‭CEB‬‬

In the verse above, “I am who I am” is like saying “I will be who I will be”. Whatever name I gave and will give is up to me. I owned everything, it’s up to me to decide what name I will give. True enough, He gave the name Lord but, did the verse say, “That is my “personal name” to indicate that “Lord” is His most proper name? No. It says, “name” only. Lord is a noun which means “nomen” or literally means name, it’s a title name worthy to a God. This title will last forever because this title is attached to a deity that is eternal. But, is it really His personal name? Did God give Moses His most personal name?

Nope, He entrusted the revelation of His personal name to His begotten Son.

Prophesied by Zechariah;

“The LORD will become king over all the land. On that day the LORD will be one, and the LORD’s name will be one.” Zechariah‬ ‭14:9‬ ‭CEB‬‬

Confirmed by Christ.

“I and the Father are one.”John‬ ‭10:30‬ ‭CEB‬‬

The Christ said also below;

“Righteous Father, EVEN THE WORLD DIDN’T KNOW YOU, but I’ve known you, and these believers know that you sent me. I’ve made your name known to them and will continue to make it known so that your love for me will be in them, and I myself will be in them.”John‬ ‭17:25-26‬ ‭CEB‬‬

The World according to Christ does not know the Father meaning, even Jews does not really know the Father’s name otherwise, why would the Christ said “I’ve made your name known to them” when they already know the Father’s name. It does not make sense for the Christ to speak those words since their ancestor (Moses) receive the name unless, what Moses had received was incomplete or rather, a title name of the Father for after-all, the bible is not clear what kind of name was given to Moses.

So, what is the name that the Christ made known? Is it the name “Father”? I don’t think so since before the coming of Christ God was already known as their Father so, it follows that should the name of God is “Father”, there is no sense for the Christ to still make the name known to them since they already knew God in the name “Father”

“But now, LORD, you are our father. We are the clay, and you are our potter. All of us are the work of your hand.”Isaiah‬ ‭64:8‬ ‭CEB‬‬

Is the name “Immanuel”? I don’t think so since before the coming of Christ, it was already prophesied and mentioned that the Christ will be called Immanuel so, it follows that should the name of God is “Immanuel”, there is no sense for the Christ to still make the name known to them since they already knew that He will be called Immanuel as mentioned in the verse below.

“Therefore, the Lord will give you a sign. The young woman is pregnant and is about to give birth to a son, and she will name him Immanuel.”Isaiah‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭CEB‬‬

Is the name “Jehovah/YHWH? I don’t think so since before the coming of Christ it was already known besides, most experts translated it as LORD which is a title name. Now, why would God allowed YHWH to be translated by as Lord? Moreover, as mentioned in the bible, every matter must be establish in two to three witnesses. It seems God purposely allowed it to be translated as Lord by the majority of bible experts so as to reveal that YHWH is not really His most proper name but is simply equivalent to Lord which is His title forever. And, if YHWH is really God’s proper name, why was there a need for the Christ to make His Father’s name known to His disciples when they knew already the name? It does not make sense for the Christ to speak the below words when they already knew the Father’s name:

  • I’ve made YOUR NAME known to them… John 17:26 CEB
  • I have revealed YOUR NAME to the people you gave me from this world…John 17:6 CEB

Why would the Christ still make known His Father’s name when they knew it already There is no sense why Christ would still make known the Father’s name unless, before the Christ made it known, no one really knows the Father’s name.

But, what name did the Christ made known?

The clue is in the verse below;

None of them were lost, except the one who was destined for destruction, so that scripture would be fulfilled.” John‬ ‭17:11-12‬ ‭CEB‬‬

Confessed by Christ Himself but, others would still argue that the name that Christ received from the Angel was a theophoric name meaning, the Son receive a name with the name of God in it. But;

  1. If it was a theophoric name it would again not make sense since it would imply that they knew already the Father’s name
  2. The verse did not say; “YOUR NAME, THE NAME WITH THE NAME OF GOD IN IT. We cannot change the verse just to fit into the understanding we want.

And, not only the CEB version implied that the Father’s name was given to the Son but, many other versions of the bible also implied the same thought. Even interlinear translation implied the same.

Below are versions that implied the same thought

NIV, NET, NLT, AMP, ASV, GNT, NCV, TLV, NABRE, FBV, ICB, ERV, GW, NIRV, TS2009, GNBDC, NRSV-CI, BOOKS, CJB

Applying the principle below;

“This is the third time that I’m coming to visit you. Every matter is settled on the evidence of two or three witnesses.”2 Corinthians‬ ‭13:1‬ ‭CEB‬‬

It seems too many witnesses already translated it in such that, the matter is already established that really, the Father’s name was given to the Son.

So, what name was given to the Christ?

“As he was thinking about this, an angel from the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, don’t be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because the child she carries was conceived by the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and YOU WILL CALL HIM JESUS, because he will save his people from their sins.”Matthew‬ ‭1:20-21‬ ‭CEB‬‬

“Jesus” is the name given by the Angel which is an instruction coming from God, therefore, given by God. This is the name prophesied in the below verse:

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ”Isaiah‬ ‭9:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Take note, it says “name” singular, the angel gave a singular name “Jesus”. Moreover, the subject is “name” to which the verse says going to be called;

  • Everlasting Father
  • Prince of Peace

Now, why would the name have a title both for Father – Everlasting Father and Son – Prince of Peace?

Answer: Because the name is of the Father which was not known yet to man before the Christ came hence, the title everlasting Father. The name was given to the Son hence, the name obtained a title as prince of peace. So, it follows that the name is actually the name of Father and Son.

The name Jesus was the name revealed to the people God gave to Him.

“I have revealed YOUR NAME to the people you gave me from this world. They were yours and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word.”John‬ ‭17:6‬ ‭CEB‬‬

This is the reason why the below verse is saying that, when we ask in His name which is Jesus, the Father can be glorified in the Son.

“I will do whatever you ask for in my name, so that the Father can be glorified in the Son. When you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it.”John‬ ‭14:13-14‬ ‭CEB‬‬‬‬

The Son, after all, comes in His Father’s name literally.

I have come in my Father’s name, and you don’t receive me. If others come in their own name, you receive them.”John‬ ‭5:43‬ ‭CEB‬‬

Some would say, the Father’s name figuratively means “Father’s Authority”. Well;

  1. Let us not change what is written, it says “name”.
  2. The authority is in the name of Jesus. No name, no authority.
  3. The verse below said;

“and said, “I assure you that if you don’t turn your lives around and become like this little child, you will definitely not enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3 CEB

A child usually understood things first literally. The problem with most who read the bible is they think too much rather than reading it and applying like what a child would understand which is mostly in literal form. The interpretation of the bible is always literal first then, if it does not make sense literally, you try figurative. But, if it made sense literally, you adopt the literal interpretation.

Again applying how a child would understand. Remember, there are many words- written and spoken i.e. Dog, Plants, Bus, Alex, Table, Jesus, bottle, Etc. Of all the words we knew, there is only one word biblically that became flesh and that word is “Jesus”. In Jhon 1:1, the word was said to be in the beginning and this word is God because it is the name of the Father. What word is it? “JESUS” is that word because there is no other word in all the words that we knew that became flesh in Jhon 1:14.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”John‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”John‬ ‭1:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

No wonder the name Jesus is said to be the name above a name because, it is the name of the Father given to the son to make it known.

“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,” Philippians‬ ‭2:9-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

No wonder also the verse below said;

“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”John‬ ‭14:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If you know the Son, you’ll also know the Father because they have one name. The Son inherited the name of the Father.

“having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”Hebrews‬ ‭1:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

But why did the Christ not call His Father “Jesus”? Answer: Its because it’s disrespectful, you don’t call your father on his proper name rather, you used an endearment name that identifies your relationship to your father. Nonetheless, through the Christ, the proper name of God was revealed and apostles were aware of this. In fact, when they were commissioned to baptized in the name (singular) of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit Matt 28:19. Peter responded in Act 2:38 using the name Jesus Christ. Why? Because, Jesus is identified to the name of the Father, Christ is identified to the name of the Son and the Holy Spirit was sent in the name of Jesus Christ.

But, In the future to come when we are victorious. The Son will introduce His new own name not, the Son will introduce a new name of the Father. The Son already introduce the Father’s name which He carries. According to Jhon 5:43, He comes in His Father’s name. Therefore, Jesus is not really Son’s own name but the Father’s name given to the Son to make it known the world. John 17:11-12 CEB

The name of the Son obtained while on earth was Christ. In time, The son will introduce His own new name.

“As for those who emerge victorious, I will make them pillars in the temple of my God, and they will never leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the New Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from my God. I will also write on them MY OWN NEW NAME.” Revelation 3:12 CEB

The World does not know the Name of the Father when the Christ Came

“Righteous Father, even the WORLD didn’t know you, but I’ve known you, and these believers know that you sent me. I’ve made YOUR NAME known to them and will continue to make it known so that your love for me will be in them, and I myself will be in them.” John 17:25-26 CEB

The “them” is His Disciples but, His disciples were also Jews whose forefather was Moses to whom God revealed His name. So naturally, they know their God’s name but, why must the Christ say that He made the Father’s name known to them when they know already the name? And further said that even the WORLD does know the Father which implies that, even Jews do not really know the Father hence, the Christ made His name known to them.

But, what name was it that even Jews does not know yet before the Christ came?

Is it the name “Father”? Nope, God was already called Father way before the Christ Came. Therefore, this is not the name otherwise, no need for the Christ to make it known to His disciples.

“Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” Isaiah‬ ‭64:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“But you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us or Israel acknowledge us; you, Lord, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name.”Isaiah‬ ‭63:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Is it YHWH or Jehovah? Nope, As recorded in some version, YHWH was given to Moses, was translated to Lord. So, YHWH or Jehovah or Lord was already known to them even before the Christ came. Therefore, this is not the name otherwise, no need for the Christ to make it known to His disciples. Its either Moses was lying or the Christ, I’d rather believe the Christ.

So, what name was the Christ referring to? The clue is below.

“I’m no longer in the world, but they are in the world, even as I’m coming to you. Holy Father, watch over them in your name, the name you gave me, that they will be one just as we are one. When I was with them, I watched over them in your name, the name you gave to me, and I kept them safe. None of them were lost, except the one who was destined for destruction, so that scripture would be fulfilled.”John 17:11-12 CEB

According to the verse above, the Christ is partly saying that the Father’s name was given to Him. So, what name was that?

“As he was thinking about this, an angel from the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, don’t be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because the child she carries was conceived by the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you will call him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”Matthew 1:20-21 CEB

“Jesus” was the name given to the Christ by the Angel which He said to be the name of His Father.

But, how about the below verse in KJV which implies that the name Jesus was already known before the Christ came?

“Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;”Acts‬ ‭7:45‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Seems odd right? Let’s use the principle below. Let us check other versions.

“This will be my third visit to you. “Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”2 Corinthians 13:1 NIV

This is what other version says;

“which our fathers, having received it in turn, also brought with Joshua into the land possessed by the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David,”Acts‬ ‭7:45‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“After receiving the tabernacle, our ancestors under Joshua brought it with them when they took the land from the nations God drove out before them. It remained in the land until the time of David,” Acts‬ ‭7:45‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“In time, when they had received the tent, our ancestors carried it with them when, under Joshua’s leadership, they took possession of the land from the nations whom God expelled. This tent remained in the land until the time of David.” Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭7:45‬ ‭CEB‬‬

So, it is evident that KJV has somehow mistranslated that part hence, other versions corrected it. KJV is not a perfect translation, it is said that more or less 5% was a mistranslation. That’s around 1,555 verses of a total 31,102 verses in the bible. The principle as implied in 2 Corinthians 13:1 should be used in reading the bible, it is written for a reason.

To conclude, it is evident that the name Jesus only appeared in the bible when the Angel gave it while the child was in Mary’s womb. It is the name that the Christ made known to His disciples to which at that time, the world does not know yet. No wonder Jesus is said to be the name above all name in (Philippians 2:9-10) because it is the name of the Father after all which was only given to the Son for Him to make it known to the world.

But, why did the Christ not call His Father “Jesus”?

The Name above all Name

The English word “noun” has its roots from the Latin word “nomen”, which means “name.” So, name = noun.

There are 2 types of noun.

  1. Common and;
  2. Proper

Father, God, Son- these are examples of names or nouns that fall under common noun. While, the name Jesus, Peter, John, etc falls under proper nouns. Nonetheless, all are names or nouns.

The verse below says, the name=noun Jesus is above ALL noun which means, it does not matter whether proper or common, the name=noun Jesus is above all.

“Therefore, God highly honored him and gave him a name above all names, so that at the name of Jesus everyone in heaven, on earth, and under the earth might bow”Philippians‬ ‭2:9-10‬ ‭CEB‬‬

So, if you believe that the name of God is “Father”- a noun, according to the verse, which noun is above or higher?

Jesus or Father?

So, if you believe that the name of God is “Lord”- a noun, according to the verse, which noun is above or higher?

Jesus or, Lord?

So, if you believe that the name of God is “Jehovah”- a noun, according to the verse, which noun is above or higher?

Jesus or, Jehovah?

So, if you believe that the name of God is “Jah”- a noun, according to the verse, which noun is above or higher?

Jesus or, Jah?

Why does the verse say that the noun JESUS is above all other nouns i.e Father, Lord, Jehovah, Jah, and any other noun? If Jesus is only Son’s name and the verse also say that the Son is beneath the Father. It does not make sense that Son’s name is higher than the Father. Unless Son’s name is the Father’s name which was given to the Son as the below verse implied.

Holy Father, watch over them in your name, the NAME you gave me, that they will be one just as we are one. When I was with them, I watched over them in YOUR NAME, the NAME you GAVE TO ME, and I kept them safe…. John 17:11-12 CEB

There are 20 bible versions I found with the same thought that the name of the Father was given to the Son.

NIV, NET, CEB, NLT, AMP, ASV, GNT, NCV, TLV, NABRE, FBV, ICB, ERV, GW, NIRV, TS2009, GNBDC, NRSV-CI, BOOKS, CJB

Why Do Prayers Works Regardless of Your religious Affiliation?

“And he said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.

As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away to its roots. And Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.” And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” Mark‬ ‭11:14, 20-25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

The above is the biblical answer. It works because of faith. Believe with all your heart and mind and whatever you asked will be given to you.

When the world was created, all man’s need was already in it, all we need to do is to attract it towards us. This is also called the Law of Attraction- one of the natural law that was in place in the world since the beginning of time.

So what is the law of attraction? Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. It is believed that regardless of age, nationality or religious belief, we are all susceptible to the laws which govern the Universe, including the Law of Attraction. It is the Law of Attraction which uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually. If you focus on negative doom and gloom you will remain under that cloud. If you focus on positive thoughts and have goals that you aim to achieve you will find a way to achieve them with massive action.

This is why the universe is such an infinitely beautiful place. The Law of Attraction dictates that whatever can be imagined and held in the mind’s eye is achievable if you take action on a plan to get to where you want to be. Click here

One of the things that Jesus Christ did was, He demonstrated as the verse above and revealed or made it known who the author of the law so that, we can honor and give the credit to whom the credit is due.

So, who is the author of this natural law so we can finally give the honor to whom it is rightfully due?

Answer: Jesus – It is the Father’s (Creator) name that was given by the Angel while in the womb and, was carried by the Son of God – Christ or the anointed body to which He Himself confessed to being the name of His Father which He made known to His disciples and will continue to make it known.

I have come in MY FATHER’S NAME, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.” John‬ ‭5:43‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“I have MANIFESTED YOUR NAME to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word.” ‭‭John‬ ‭17:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“I’m no longer in the world, but they are in the world, even as I’m coming to you. Holy Father, watch over them in YOUR NAME, THE NAME YOU GAVE ME, that they will be one just as we are one. When I was with them, I watched over them in YOUR NAME, THE NAME YOU GAVE ME, and I kept them safe. None of them were lost, except the one who was destined for destruction, so that scripture would be fulfilled.” ‭‭John‬ ‭17:11-12‬ ‭CEB‬‬

“O righteous Father, EVEN THOUGH THE WORLD DOES NOT KNOW YOU, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. I made known to THEM YOUR NAME, and I WILL CONTINUE to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.” John‬ ‭17:25-26‬ ‭ESV‬‬

The Sound Words of Our Lord Jesus Christ

“If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the SOUND WORDS OF OUR Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions,”1 Timothy‬ ‭6:3-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

What were the few sound words of Jesus Christ Himself?

I have come in MY FATHER’S NAME, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.”John‬ ‭5:43‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“I have MANIFESTED YOUR NAME to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word.”‭‭John‬ ‭17:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in YOUR NAME, WHICH YOU GIVEN ME, that they may be one, even as we are one. While I was with them, I kept them in YOUR NAME, WHICH YOU HAVE GIVEN ME. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.” ‭‭John‬ ‭17:11-12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I made known to THEM YOUR NAME, and I WILL CONTINUE to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”John‬ ‭17:25-26‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Above were sound words of Jesus Christ to which He insists the following;

  1. He came in His Father’s Name
  2. He manifested His Father’s Name
  3. Father’s name was given to Him.
  4. The world does not know the Father and He made the Father’s name known to his disciples and will continue to make it known.

In No. 4 – He particularly said, THE WORLD does know the Father and further said, He made known the Father’s name to them and will continue to make it known. But, how could it be that the world meaning, including the Jews, does not know the Father’s name when Moses their forefather receive it? Is it possible that what Moses had received was not really the Father’s proper name but the title name? Otherwise, why would the Christ make the name known to them as if His disciples were not born as Jews hence, not aware of the Father’s name which was given to Moses?

In No. 3 – He said, He was given the name of the Father but, what is that name? When He was in the womb, an Angel gave Him a name Jesus and further said, they will call Him Immanuel which means God is with us not the messenger of God is with us. Does it mean the child flesh was God? Nope, but the child has the name of God.

In No. 2 – He demonstrated or manifested the Father’s name to them. He showed to them what can be achieved in the name of the Father which is the name He carries. There are many verses that proved that in the name of Jesus things happened and the below is one of them.

“Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle IN MY NAME can in the next moment say anything bad about me,”Mark‬ ‭9:39‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In No. 1 – Some say, in my Father’s name could mean, He comes in the authority of the Father and that His name is not really the Father’s name. But, if this is the case, then like in No. 2, Why is it possible to perform miracles in His name if the authority is not in His name? Why is it that He told His disciple to ask anything in His name, not in Father’s name? Is it because the name of the Father and the Son is one and the same- JESUS. The name Christ was not given by the angel, Christ is an earned name of the human body which became the sacrificial lamb. Click The Most Proper Name of God- Jesus to read further.

In fact, it was prophesied:

“And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and HIS NAME ONE.”‭‭ Zechariah‬ ‭14:9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Confirmed by Christ Himself:

I and the Father are ONE.” John‬ ‭10:30‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Apostles also implied the same:

“Thomas responded to Jesus, “MY LORD AND MY GOD!” Jesus replied, “Do you believe because you see me? Happy are those who don’t see and yet believe.”John‬ ‭20:28-29‬ ‭CEB‬‬

“From Simon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ. To those who received a faith equal to ours through the justice of OUR GOD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.”2 Peter‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭CEB‬‬

The Lord also made it clear below that there is no other savior besides Him. Only God saves.

“I, I am the LORD, and there is no savior besides me.”Isaiah‬ ‭43:11‬ ‭CEB‬‬

Apostles also followed the baptism commission instructed to them while Jesus was still on earth. At that time, He did not allowed that His name was to be used in baptism because while on earth, He was not yet the priest that mediate between man and God as there were existing priests (Levitical) instructed by the law to mediate between man and God. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”Matthew‬ ‭28:19‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Notice the “name” above is in singular form. It is exactly what Peter did in Act 2:38.

“And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”Acts‬ ‭2:38‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Jesus is the name of the Father inherited by the Son.

“having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.”Hebrews‬ ‭1:4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Christ is the earned title name of the body that was resurrected and also ascended to heaven. This glorified anointed body or, Christ was the Son or the Image of God. Son is defined as the Image of God in Col 1:15. Click below to read.

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.”Colossians‬ ‭1:15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

And, Holy Spirit was the Spirit sent after He ascends which Jesus promised to be sent as a Helper in the His name.

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” John‬ ‭14:26‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Thus, In act Act 2:38, by baptizing in the name JESUS CHRIST, the instruction in Matthew 28:19 was fulfilled.

But, to be clear, the Father is not the Son nor Son is the Father. They have the SAME NAME though. They are one yet also separate. Father is a vast, unquantified Holy Spirit who fills heaven and earth that can send part of Himself without His essence as Spirit being reduced. This part of God dwells in the Son who is an exact representation of the vast Spirit God. Click this link – Son- the Image of God to read further.

Now, do you see it or you disagree with the sound word of Jesus Christ Himself? Are you puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. Do you have an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions?

Below is some information of some religious organization with MANY FOLLOWERS that in their belief would disagree with the sound word of Jesus Christ.

Iglesia ni Cristo Inc. – The name of Father is “Father” and the name Jesus is not God but, man to date and to eternity.

Jehovah’s Witnesses – The name of Father is “Jehovah” and, the name Jesus is God but lesser God as Jesus is the name of the son only.

MCGI – The name of Father is “YHWH” and, the name Jesus is God but lesser God as Jesus is the name of the son only.

Catholic/Seventh Day Adventist/Born Again Christian – The name of Father is “YHWH” and, the name Jesus is God the Son and is equal to YHWH the father and equal to God the Holy Spirit.

A Reminder;

“But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. AND MANY WILL FOLLOW their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.” ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭2:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬
